The Finer Details

Podere Pizzi is a lovely stone farmhouse, exuding rustic charm, nestled in the tranquil hills outside the medieval city of Lucca.

The house's entrance is accessed by a cobblestone path leading to the raised ground floor. As is common with many traditional farmhouses, the lower floor remains a celler and is not utilised as living space.

The house has five bedrooms - three with double beds and two that can be configured as either double or twin single beds. Two doubles are situated on the lower floor, while the remaining three bedrooms are located upstairs. There are two family bathrooms, one on each floor.

The house features a spacious living room on the upper floor, complete with a TV providing access to Netflix, a well-equipped family kitchen with a dishwasher and an entrance room that leads to a delightful balcony with stunning views of the pool area and hillside, perfect for an evening aperitif.

All bedrooms have electric fans, and Starlink WiFi is available throughout the property for internet access.

The house sleeps a maximum of 10 guests including children.

Outside you'll find a good sized saltwater pool (unheated), a pergola and sun loungers and a barn housing a games room with a ping pong table and table football, promising endless entertainment. Additionally there is a large covered dining area for al fresco dining.

The house is conveniently located just a short 5-minute drive from the small town of San Martino in Freddana, offering amenities including a supermarket, post office, pharmacy, bank, and a pizzeria. Several other restaurants are also within easy reach. If you prefer dining in, we can arrange for a local chef to prepare a delicious meal at the house.

Lucca, with its enchanting blend of piazzas, medieval towers, historic churches, winding cobblestone streets, chic boutiques, and restaurants, is a mere 20-minute drive away. Music enthusiasts will appreciate Lucca's connection to the famous composer Puccini and the Lucca Summer Music Festival.

The closest airport, Pisa, is approximately a 45-minute drive, and Florence is just over an hour away. The house is also conveniently situated for exploring the Versilia beaches, including Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore, Pietrasanta, and Forte dei Marmi, which are about a 35-minute drive. For those seeking adventure, a day trip to the Cinque Terre is within reach.

Other Details to Note:

There are some steep steps within the property, low height windows on the upper floors and outside there is an elevated area that has no railings making it less suitable for toddlers, the elderly or those with limited mobility.

The property does not have air conditioning, however each bedroom is equipped with electric fans to provide comfort during hotter weeks.
